Thoughts: Dell 24″ Widescreen LCD
Okay, I finally got an LCD for my main monitor to replace my tried and true Dell 21″ CRT monitor.
After looking around I settled on the DELL 2407WFP 24″ UltraSharp Wide Screen Flat Panel LCD Monitor. It was on special. :-)
So why the big screen? I was using a resolution of 1600×1200 on my CRT and this monitor has a native resolution of 1920×1200 so I didn’t lose any screen real estate. The monitor also has component inputs, though these will never get used as I only plan on using it as a PC monitor. They also throw in a built in card reader for SD, Compact Flash etc. very handy to have.
What I like about the monitor:
- Looks great from the front.
- Widescreen is really great.
- Getting rid of the CRT really frees up space around the desk, this was an unexpected bonus.
- Fully adjustable every which way.
- Everything looks fantastic.
- Plus I got the 5 year warranty. :-)
What I don’t like:
- Silver on the back? Why no black?
Overall:
Yes it was worth it. With the bonus of extra space, card reader and just overall great quality. These monitors have come down a lot in price and I paid half what I paid for my CRT 5 years ago.
