Robert Downey Jr has another hit on his hands with Sherlock Holmes.

I started the movie thinking, oh great, not another movie set in boring olden time London, right if this thing doesn't impress me in 5 minutes I am outta here. 3 minutes later I was hooked.

They do something new with a fight scene where you see it play out in the Sherlock's mind first in slow motion with him describing what happens and then bam! They play it at full speed in a few seconds. Great effect and glad that they didn't overuse it.

The movie was classic Sherlock Holmes with a great little mystery to be solved. Robert Downey Jr playing a flawed character (ala Iron man) does a great job here as does Jude Law and the rest of the cast.

Overall:

Great movie. Felt like they were setting up the franchise like they did in Batman Begins and can't wait for the next one. :-)
