No online co-op for Halo 3?

So the rumour at the moment is that there will be no online co-op for Halo 3.

Still a rumour and it might change, but the fact that it is out now, man this just burns me.

I remember when they did this with Halo 2, no online co-op was a big let down. Now they dare to pull the same stunt again with Halo 3? This game just went from ‘must buy’ to, rent it if I have some spare time.

There are just too many great games out there to occupy my time to spend it playing yet another frustrating Halo game. We all remember the library level in Halo 1, and then not playing as MC in Halo 2 and the chopped ending.

I play games for their single player experience and really enjoy some of the stories out there in games, I just no longer trust Bungie to not let me down with the single player story and maybe I would be better off just not playing it at all.

What happened to the motto: “When its done!”, no online co-op means that the game isn’t done. I was expecting at least 2 player online co-op with 4 or more being a very nice thing.

Also this rubbish about, too hard to compute when one guy is on one side of the map and the other guy is on the other. Well if it can handle it in single player, then the 2 consoles just need to share some location data and split the CPU resources for the AI. In this age of distrubuted computing surely they could have used the 2 consoles in sync instead of just putting it all on one console to be the server and do all the CPU for the AI.

Gears of War did it, so we know it can be done, no online co-op from Bungie makes them a 2nd tier developer whent it comes to technology.
