Movie Thoughts: Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End

pirates_of_the_caribbean_at_worlds_end.jpgFinally got to see the third and final movie in the Pirates Triology: Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End.

There are gonna be spoilers, so don’t read if you haven’t seen it.

The Good:

  • The special effects are amazing. Everything was epic.
  • Way better than the 2nd movie in the trilogy. Got back to the roots of the first movie.
  • Pacing was great even though the movie was long.

The Bad:

  • What is up with the lame ass ending to the Elizabeth and Will romance? They could have done it so many other ways instead of the 10 years appart. This letdown at the end was just disapointing. They didn’t stay true to the spirit of the original. This site has a post about how the POTC 3 ending could be good.

Overall:

This movie was 90% awesome and would be in the top 5 easy if it hadn’t been for the lame ending which let it down. Why they decided to avoid the happy ending will always keep me wondering.
