Mass Effect 2
The amazing Mass Effect gets a sequel creatively titled: 'Mass Effect 2'. ME2 continues on the story from the first game and even allows you to import your character from the first Mass Effect. This is a nice touch I haven't seen anywhere else in a long time.
The entire game engine is completely overhauled and this makes for a very pretty game that runs great and has a lot of the issues of the previous game all smoothed away.
Instead of just re-hashing or just adding racing stripes, Mass Effect 2 turns things on their head and actually comes up with an entirely new story that is just as epic in scope as the first game. There appears to be no copy and paste from the story of the first game. Decisions that you made in the first Mass Effect are reflected in this game and it really helps to give the game a unique touch. The developers have also said that the decisions in Mass Effect 2 will affect the story of Mass Effect 3 and probably the final ending.
Unfortunately, there is a fly in the ointment though. Mineral Scanning is an Ugly Ugly scar on a great game. Most agree it is terrible. This is just one of those things that while fine in the PC version of the game, the Xbox 360 version was outsourced to the new intern that had no clue what he was doing. It isn't essential to the game so it can be forgiven.
Overall: Great game. Everything was top notch. They really stepped up and produced something special that builds upon the first and lays down a solid foundation for an epic trilogy. Can't wait for the 3rd one. ;-)
