Todays review is on: New Super Mario Bros for the Nintendo DS.

A classic platform game in the style of the old Super Mario Bros games for the Nintendo. Its your basic ‘The princess is captured and needs to be rescued’ plotline. You have different worlds that you progress through in your search for the Princess and 2 extra worlds that have to be unlocked via alternate exits in levels.

Good:

• Its mario! :-)
• Great sharp graphics that always convey clearly what is going on.
• Really good soundtrack that didn’t drive me crazy even though it loops continously.
• The new big and little Marios really help to mix it up and add a bit of variety to the game.

Bad:

• Aggravating save point system. You can’t save anywhere, only when you spend coins or make it to a castle or end of level. This can lead to you leaving the DS closed but on to save you spot, and then having the battery die and you lose all of your current progress.
• The other mini games didn’t really do anything for me and I would rather have seen the original super mario bros on there as a bonus I guess.

Overall:

Classic platforming done great on the DS platform. This is a must play game if you like the platform style.
