Okay people, listen up and listen good: Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence. You should all know about Metal Gear now, well then the 2 disc subsitence edition is great, you get a new updated camera that really opens the game up. This is the version they should have released. This is more a movie than a game, though there is nothing wrong with that.
The Good
- One of the best story based games that you will ever watch/play on any console.
- The new camera in Subistence really updates the feel of the game and makes it more accessible.
- Great voice acting.
The Bad
- If you don’t like movies, don’t bother with this game, you can spend half an hour just watching cut scenes.
- PS2 graphics do look a bit dated, though they are pushed to the limit here and don’t look too bad.
Overall
This is probably the best game on the Playstation 2 by a mile. Easy to see why people are so keyed up for the next one after this one. If you like the earlier games then this is a truly awesome experience that you won’t regret. The story won’t make any sense at all until you have watched the whole thing (and the bit after the credits) so get comfortable and enjoy the show.
