Resident Evil 5 is a sequel that isn't really a sequel in the classic sense. Sure it is the next in the series, but this time around you play as a different character and while there are zombies, what causes them is different.

It's great that they don't stick to the 'same old thing' and are actually reinvigorating the genre with a new take on their source material.

The game itself is great in all areas, graphics are fantastic and combined with the audio, this keeps you on edge as they don't call it 'survival horror' for nothing.

The game comes with co-op this time around and this makes things even better, though it is a double edged sword as when you play in single player only mode the AI controlling the other player leaves a lot to be desired and can make things frustrating.

As you hunt down (and kill) the zombie hordes, you will traverse a wide variety of environments, and face a wide variety of enemies. Throw in a few puzzles here and there and things never get boring. :-)

Overall:

Resident Evil 5 is a truly great game. Best played in co-op mode to avoid frustration, though you won't be dissapointed.
