Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is the long awaited sequel to Modern Warfare, the game that brought the franchise into the modern era and revolutionised the multiplayer in modern First Person Shooters with it's ranking system.

Modern Warfare 2 doesn't stray far from the formula, just makes things 100 times bigger.

The single player movie is like a Jerry Bruckheimer/Michael Bay action film that just gets more and more insane with no need for a lot of logic in the storyline to get in the way. This makes for some of the best single player action you can have in a game. :-)

This time around there is a co-op mode where you and a friend can team up to take on specific levels where you have to survive waves of enemies. This was done really well and was a lot of fun.

Unfortunately the multiplayer was let down by a lot of bugs that really ruined the experience. Not long after the glitchers turned up with exploits to allow cheating. But theses didn't hurt the multiplayer as much as some of the design choices that really didn't lend themselves to a fun time.

Overall:

A great single player game with a disappointing multiplayer. Worth it for the single player alone.
