Zune

Round up of gadget news from EndGadget.

  • Sandisk Extreme IV Compact flash cards - Transfers at speeds up to 40Mbps and can witstand temperature extremes. Very nice
  • Apple to do eBooks - eBooks, the only way to read, if Apple really pull this off with their next Gen video player then everyone else is dead in the water
  • Microsoft Zune rumour roundup - If this is microsofts answer to the iPod, give up, go back and make verison 2 and release that, this thing might have been good 2 years ago, though it just doesn’t seem to have the coolness of the iPod. Time will tell, though I guess we have to wait for an actual product, but if its anything like the Tablet PC, UMPC debacles, it seems that MS have lost their touch for consumer products, baring the XBOX 360 of course ;-)
  • Nintendo to fix DS Lite hinge cracks for free - Nintendo again prove that they get it and why they are far above everyone else in their chosen markets.
  • AMD and ATI to talk meger - ohhh juicy, this will really stir up the market seeing as AMD have typically been branded with nVidia. Here is hoping it means faster and cheaper components.
  • Skype and the WiFi phones - Oh yeah this is nice, shame they are too expensive, though its a step in the right direction.
  • New Nikon DSL on the way - 10.2 megapixels and 20 days until full details.
  • Electric Roadster - Now this is what is going to sell electric cars. If we can just get an electric engine into a decent looking car, we will be well on the way to getting red of petrol based cars.

mmmmm gadgets :-)
