According to this post on IESB.net, the next season of Battlestar Galactica will be the last one.

Sure it isn’t the official word, though I can’t say I am surprised. Season 1 of the new Battlestar Galactica was some of the best television that I have ever seen. Somwhere along the way they lost that spark and it just became OK to watch.

It’s still a lot better than most of the shows out there, though I have to say that I am glad that they are going to finish it as I think this will give them a chance to tighten up the writing and really bring it home with some quality. At least this approach is better than to just keep making episodes until they get canceled like Farscape.
