Batman: Arkham City
Batman: Arkham City is the sequel to one of the greatest video games ever made Batman: Arkham Asylum.
Arkham Asylum set the bar extremely high and provided an extremely rich and rewarding experience, Arkham City somehow manages to take that to yet another level and provides a fantastic 'open world' style experience that is so good, that if there was no Batman logo on the box, the game would still stand as an amazing piece of work.
So why does it work so well? First, as a sequel it doesn't do the usual cheap trick of making you go back to basics and strip you of all the cool weapons that you have. Nope, in Batman: Arkham City once you suit up, you have all the cool gadgets that you had before and you start off as a full on bad ass (as Batman is). :-)
Sure there are plenty more gadgets and combat moves to unlock, but at the start, you have all you need to feel like Batman and start kicking ass.
The game has a fantastic story and involves a lot of the villains that Batman has encountered over the years. They wisely kept to their own version of Batman that doesn't have anything to do with the various Movies, Comics and TV shows. Voice acting is superb all round.
Not only is there a main story to follow, but there is a lot of well fleshed out side stories to investigate as well. And to top this all off there are a lot of little Riddler puzzles to solve all over the map, so there is always something interesting to do even as you move from point A to B across the map.
Overall:
A great game that really sets the bar for other games to follow. Gameplay, Audio and Visual are all top notch and it is a hard game to put down.
