Assassin's Creed 2
Assassin's Creed 2 is the kind of sequel that justifies making sequels. Where the first game was fun but had some flaws, the sequel is better, faster and stronger. :-)
Taking the premise of the first one to new heights and continuing the story right where the last one ended. They don't waste any time in explaining what is happening before dropping you right into Florence and political intrigue.
You will spend most of your time playing as Ezio Auditore da Firenze as you travel around developing your Assassin skills to avenge the murder of your Father and Brothers. Along the way you meet up with allies that increase your range of weapons and skills.
Gameplay wise Assassin's Creed II makes it easy to control Ezio as you climb buildings and leap around solving puzzles and uncovering various clues. Assassination and Combat is improved and it still makes running across rooftops lots of fun. Diving off tall buildings into a haystack still brings a smile to my face every time. :-)
The soundtrack is really well done and there is this one haunting beat that pumps your adrenaline and drives you to keep running. Hard to explain, but they really nailed it (The beat that is, not my ear drums).
The Story is deep and wide and far too detailed to cover here. Questions from the first game are answered while raising all new ones (and answering a few of them). The payoff here is much bigger than the first and sets the stage for an Epic Third game.
Overall: Fantastic game. All the issues with the first game were resolved and what's left is one of the best games I have ever played. Can't recommend it enough. :-)
